    We used to play football in the small half-moon section of playground at the bottom of the image that is in the shadow of trees (our "pitch" was bordered at the top almost exactly by the bottom line of the square that gives the location of school as a place). Don't shed too many tears for our dearth of real estate, however. Another class had to play on the smaller half-moon to the right of ours! If the ball went on the grass, game over. A certain "Bird" was always watching, ready to pounce and meet out cruel and unusual punishment.
